Singer-songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Malcolm Bruce is coming to Perth, appearing at the AK Bell Library alongside his special guests, The Andy Gunn Band.

Singer-songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Malcolm Bruce has toured and recorded with some of the biggest names in music including Little Richard, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani, and his father the late Jack Bruce of Cream.

Malcolm curated a tribute to his father last October at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire with performances by legends such as Lulu, Eddi Reader, Maggie Reilly, Paul Young, Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), Dennis Chambers (Santana, Parliament / Funkadelic) and Ginger Baker (Cream). He’s recently been touring in Australia and New Zealand with his side project ‘The Music of Cream’ featuring special guests Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath) and Robben Ford (Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell).

Malcolm’s new album ‘Salvation’ was released via Pledge Music earlier this year and he is out on the road in support, with a 10 date Scottish tour in October and a full UK tour early next year. His shows are at once epic and intimate, with a unique approach to song structure and form. His guitar playing is explorative, expressive and passionate. He is fast emerging as a truly original artist on the international scene.

THE ANDY GUNN BAND

Recently heralded as ‘a great lost Scottish talent and one of our finest ever blues players’, Andy Gunn’s inspirational return to the music scene was proclaimed, in his own undeniable style, by the acclaimed 2015 album Miracle of Healing.

Over the years, Andy has shared the stage and billing with some big names including supporting Buddy Guy at The Queens’ Hall, jamming with Albert Collins and backing Geno Washington at the first Belladrum Festival.

Although Andy can articulate the blues like no other, his optimism, style and astounding talent means seeing him perform is an electrifying, uplifting and unforgettable experience.

The Andy Gunn Band goes from strength to strength, playing gigs throughout Scotland, the North of England, and recently taking the stage at the Northern Roots festival (2017) in the Highlands.
