Autumn Race Day

Summer may be over but the racing season isn't! Our first autumn fixture is on Monday 11th September and we want you to join us in celebrating the best of Scottish food and drink!

We love racing - and we love Scottish food and drink! So here at Small City we think that this will be a fantastic day and we can't wait to be there!

This is one of the last fixtures of our season and as we head into the home straight for 2017, some of the stars of the winter jumps scene will be in attendance.

Last year, Grand National-winning trainer Donald McCain was on the mark in this fixture but there was also Scottish and local success for Lanarkshire’s William Young and Glenfarg based Lucy Normille.

As well as a fantastic race card featuring six top-class jump races, we will be celebrating the best of Scottish food and drink – making this a must attend fixture for all foodies.

So come along for an afternoon of fun, food and drink – as we kick off autumn in true Scottish fashion!

HOT TIPS FROM THE TEAM

WEAR: Smart Casual – dress for the occasion and enjoy an afternoon of luxury food, drink and great racing!

EAT: Samples of some of the finest Scottish food and drink, which will be available throughout the day.

SEE: Some of the stars of the winter jumps scene – get a first look at the form of some of the big runners likely to be involved in the winter season.

DO: Get yourself down to the Parade Ring for a closer look at the horses before you head to the bookies for a bet!

EXTRAS: Try the fish & chips to round off your day in the tastiest way!

FEATURED RACING HIGHLIGHTS

Last year saw Donald McCain – a Grand National and Cheltenham Festival winning trainer – get off the mark at Perth with 3/1 shot Stone Quercus while Gordon Elliot, this year’s champion trainer at the Cheltenham Festival, had four runners but was unable to land a winner.

This year we are set to welcome some of the stars of the winter jumps scene for our opening autumn fixture, with further details of the horses attending available closer to the fixture.
