“Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas – a true pioneer…” CLASSIC FM MAGAZINE
When Cuban guitarist Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas first heard the music of fellow countryman, Grammy nominee guitarist and composer EDUARDO MARTÍN, he was blown away by Martín’s style - an expansive sense of freedom that tapped into the jazz, flamenco, pop, Afro and traditional Cuban traditions… Eduardo has written guitar for theatre and cinema and has toured Cuba, South America and Europe, giving concerts and masterclasses to great acclaim from both critics and the public in general.
A sophisticated virtuoso, the Havana-born AHMED DICKINSON CÁRDENAS has performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, The Sage Gateshead, Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Barbican. He has given live performances on BBC Radio 3, BBC London and has also featured at prominent festivals including, amongst others, London Classical Guitar Festival and the Havana International Guitar Festival. Dickinson Cárdenas is widely recognised as an ambassador both for the music and musicians of Cuba.
