Totepool Ladies Day 2018

Ladies day is one of our favourite events on the Perth social Calendar here at Small City. A day for all of the team to get our glad rags on and spend the afternoon together in the glorious sunshine.

Totepool ladies day 2018 was one of the best years yet! With over 7000 racegoers in attendance we were spoilt for choice when choosing the Grand Lady 2018 finalists. The outfits on display were spectacular with big hats, demure dresses, racey jumpsuits and high heels in abundance! We have put together a gallery of some of our favourite looks. Were you spotted? Do tag your friends if you spot them.

This years ladies day saw eight competitive races supported by big fields on the track and stacks of fun and entertainment across the venue.

Of course the Small City girls were on hand to dish out the rosettes for best dressed. The Grand Lady prize, sponsored by Holland Cooper, went to Samantha O’Connor who walked away with the £2,000 prize for her fabulous 1950's style dress. Best Dressed Male was Andrew McMahon, winning £750 of Slaters Menswear vouchers and Best Headwear of the day went to Karen Lovie, earning two pieces of headwear worth £500 from sponsor Louise Georgette Millinery.

There was a special buzz throughout the day and the crescendo peaked when Lovely Laura and Ben Santiago entertained the crowd live from the main stage after racing, with thousands of racegoers staying on to party into the summer evening.

Perth Racecourse management praised the huge crowd for contributing to a fantastic occasion, as well as its own team including the ground staff for helping prepare the course for eight races in under four hours. Hazel Peplinski, Perth Racecourse Chief Executive, said: “What a wonderful Totepool Ladies Day we all enjoyed – both the racing and the wider entertainment was lapped up by the big crowd, with the stunning weather the perfect backdrop to it all."

Most importantly this years Totepool Ladies Day was in support of Breast Cancer Now with a whopping £6000 kindly donated by attendees. Well done Girls!
