When it comes to art, the girls at Tayberry Gallery know just about all there is to know. The Indie retailer on Princes Street always stock some of the best collections of British art and design, and is co-owned by Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art graduates, Louise Forbes and Sarah Spalding.
Since opening its doors back in 2009, Tayberry has become one of the city’s most established Indies and picked up Perth’s Independent Retailer of the Year Award in both 2013 and 2014. As well as stocking the best of British art, both Louise and Sarah are fantastic artists themselves and stock some of their own stunning products.
Just now, Tayberry is shining its spotlight on the work of Dumfriesshire-born artist, Anna Wright. It’s her rural upbringing in southwest Scotland that has helped inspire her pieces and shape her collections.
It’s the biggest collection of Anna’s work and it includes 10 original artworks, plus a wide range of prints, bags, calendars and more! The work is going to be featured at Tayberry until 21st October and Louise and Sarah are excited to shine the Tayberry spotlight on one of Scotland’s top artists.
Louise: “We have stocked Anna’s prints for years and they’ve always sold well. The way Anna uses humour in her drawings really appeals to our customers. Her creativity is exemplary!”
Sarah: “We’re so excited to have 10 original artworks by Anna for this spotlight. Anna’s prints are top quality, but when you see these original works of art, the details are incredible. Be sure to come and see them in real life!”
