The nomination stage for the annual Perth and Kinross Sports Awards is now open and organisers at Live Active Leisure are inviting residents from across Perth and Kinross to put forward their choices for one of eleven prestigious sporting awards by 17th January 2020.

Now in its 30th year, the award ceremony will honour clubs, individuals, teams and events that play an active role in the sporting life of Perth and Kinross. Entries will be judged on merits from 1st January to 31st December 2019.

From school teams to local Olympians, individual coaches to large events, these awards recognise the huge wealth of local sporting talent and the many achievements of local sports people, businesses and clubs.

  • Volunteer of the Year, sponsored by The Perth Trophy Shop
  • Young Male and Female Sport Personality of the Year, sponsored by Alison Wilson
  • Disability Sports Person of the Year, sponsored by Small City, Big Personality
  • Young Coach of the Year, sponsored by Perth College UHI
  • Official of the Year, sponsored by Live Active Leisure
  • The Chuck Hay Team of the Year, sponsored by Springfield Properties

The person or team nominated must be a resident in Perth and Kinross for at least 6 months prior to the event or be affiliated to a club or sport in Perth and Kinross. The sport must be officially recognised by sportscotland and nominations will be judged on the entry form alone with the exception of main Sports Person of the Year Award

Previous winners include Bradley Neil (golfing), Stephen Milne (swimming), Eilidh Child (Athletics), Fiona Pennie (Canoeing), Wallace Booth and Gavin Dear (Golf) and Eve Muirhead (Curling).

The Perth & Kinross Sports Person of the Year Awards will take place in Dewars Centre on Friday 20th March 2020, and will once again be hosted by Jim Spence.

To nominate, please visit the Live Active website or pick up a nomination form in any LAL venue and return by 17th January 2019.
