Grand Bridges of Perth

07 November 2018

We're extremely lucky here in Perthshire to be nestled in amongst some of Scotland's most fantastic scenery.  A sprawling area with towns, villages and countryside spread over 2000 square miles, you will find mountains, forests, munroes and flatland ready and waiting for you to enjoy.

The best of it is that you don't need to venture too far out of the towns and city to enjoy all that nature has to offer. The glorious River Tay weaves its silvery banks around the edges of our entire county and with it brings with it both peaceful strolls and wild activity.

Here in the city, you're only a short hop, skip and a jump away from clearing the cobwebs, breathing in the glorious fresh air of the river bank and admiring the fantastic views from one of Perth’s grand bridges.

Whether you call it Perth Bridge, The Auld Brig or Smeaton’s Bridge – we can leave that discussion for another day - there is no arguing that it is amongst the city's most beautiful architecture that connects us with the rest of Scotland.

GALLERY PHOTOGRAPHER

This weeks gallery has been taken by local amateur photographer Evelyn Kelly. Evelyn started out taking photos on her IPhone so that she would have lots of inspiring subjects to paint. Evelyn is still an avid painter but she chooses to use her camera a bit more than her paintbrush these days! She enjoy's composing ‘instant’ paintings with her camera.

Evelyn loves all types of photography but so far has concentrated on landscape & street scenes and getting to know her ‘bigger’ camera. She posts her pictures on a variety of online groups such as Perth and Beyond, Perthshire Memories and Scotland by the Roadside. You can follow Evelyn's work on her Instagram page here.
