Afternoon Tea at Fonab

The ritual of afternoon tea owes its origins to Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford. As a young women in the early 1800s she lived during a time when it was common to eat only two main meals a day, with breakfast scheduled early in the morning and dinner occurring late in the evening. Weakened and irritated by hunger pangs each day, she decided to schedule time to take tea and snack each afternoon.

Indulge in a delightful Afternoon Tea at Fonab and enjoy a delicious amuse bouche followed by a fabulous display of freshly cut finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam, colourful macaroons plus a selection of miniature cakes and a choice of teas.

The new ‘G & Tea’ is the latest addition to an ever-popular Afternoon Tea menu and will include all the elements of the classic afternoon tea, combined with a deliciously refreshing gin cocktail. Inspired by the refreshing taste of one of their classic gins, you will enjoy classic finger sandwiches on Artisan Bread, fresh, warm plain and fruit scones with jam and clotted cream, as well as chic French macaroons and a decadent French pastries. Treat yourself to a chilled glass of Ruinart champagne and celebrate in style.

Your tea can be served in either the Lounge or outside on the Terrace in the summer months where you can marvel at the spectacular view of the Loch and to the mountains and hills beyond.
