Come along and support your local roller derby team!

If you're looking for something different to do this Easter Sunday, then head down to Bell's Sports Centre and watch Perth's all-female roller derby team make their highly anticipated comeback!

It's been over five years since the Fair City Rollers played an official match, and there's a lot of excitement building ahead of their clash with Elgin's roller derby team Helgin.

Team spokesperson Kirstin Guthrie - who has played with the Perthshire team for over two years, is keen to see as many people as possible come along and create a fantastic Easter Sunday atmosphere.

“After having a break from competing of almost 5 years, Fair City Rollers are officially back!  Over the last few years we’ve recruited and trained a whole new team of dedicated players, who’ve worked really hard to pass the industry standard skills and get bout ready.

We’re proud to be hosting the game in our home city and we want to welcome Helgin to Perth for what is sure to be a fantastic game.  Not only will there be a whole lot of skating to watch, there will also be a few stalls and a raffle with some great prizes kindly donated by Perthshire businesses and individuals – all of which we are extremely grateful for.

Bring your family, bring your Easter eggs (although you may have to share!), sit back and watch us come Pack From The Dead; The Fear Maidens have been resurrected.”

So if you're looking for something to do this weekend, come along and experience something fun and different, and cheer on your local roller derby team to victory!

Fair City Rollers, established in 2009, train twice a week in Perth.  The players run the team and arrange training, often inviting guest players to train and share skating knowledge.
