Winter Is Coming

Winter is coming! Its rather beautiful North of the wall (ok we will stop with the Game of Thrones puns!) However we are absolutely in awe of Perthshire’s changing scenery. Is anyone else getting excited by the cold crisp mornings with the gorgeous red skies and dustings of frost that are landing on the pavements?

This beautiful gallery captures the first glimpse of Perthshire in all of its winter glory with still rivers, sunset and even two donkeys hiding from the snow.  As you browse through these stunning images, you can't help but think that Mother Nature has a particular soft spot for our amazing wee corner of the world.  Each season giving us more beauty in the wild landscape, forests, lochs, mountains and fields of Perthshire.

**** Gallery Photographers***

We have been fortunate this week to have these incredible images provided by the Facebook group group: Pictures of Perthshire and Beyond. The page was founded by avid photographer Marysia Macfalane who wanted to create a space for budding photographers to share their passion for Photography and their local landscape. Some are keen amateurs, some are professionals and all share a love of the great outdoors and the beauty that can be found right here on our doorstep. The page is a constant inspiration when sourcing new gallery images and the Small City office love spending time scrolling through the feed of gorgeous pictures.

Our “Winter is coming” gallery photographers include:

Gavin Ritchie

Gavin is a Perthshire based photographer who specialises landscape photography spending his time exploring new places and immersing himself in the most beautiful parts of Perthshire. If you love Gavin’s work you can view his previous Small City Gallery here or purchase one of his prints for the perfect Christmas prezzie from his online store here.

Jeff Harrison

Jeff Harrison is a Wildlife & Landscape photographer based in Highland Perthshire. Prints of his images may be purchased directly from Jeff by contacting him on 07966 465775 or via his website. A selection of his prints is also on sale at Artisanand gallery in Aberfeldy and in Taymouth Courtyard shop in Kenmore

Ian Sinclair

Ian is a fantastic local photographer who has not one but two images in this week’s gallery including scenic Loch Tay and a frosty afternoon in the sleepy village of Kenmore.

Wallace Gilbraith

Wallace Gilbraith is constantly on the lookout for local beauty spots to photograph and we think he’s succeeded with this wonderfully atmospheric picture of the first snow on the hills of Glen Lyon

Helen Mcleish

Helen spotted these gorgeous Donkeys out on a wintery walk and thought they would be perfect for our Winter gallery looking cosy in their coats.

Phil Hannah

This is the second time we have featured Phil’s images in a Small City Gallery. We love his work which can often be seen on the Pictures of Perth Facebook page. His pictures are often of things which catch his attention whilst he goes about his day to day business in Perth and beyond.

Ron McCabe

Ron McCabe is a local amateur photographer and captures Perthshire’s wildlife in its local habitat.

Tom Ryan

Tom Ryan perfectly captures the Perthshire landscape with his image of the frosty tumbling waterfall at Glen Lyon.
