The Black Watch Castle and Museum and Scone Palace have retained their 5 star ratings from VisitScotland! This is the highest accolade that can be awarded to tourism organisations by the VisitScotland quality assurance scheme which aims to recognise exceptional standards within Scotland’s tourism industry and we are so lucky to have exceptional award winning visitor attractions steeped with history right here on our doorstep.

Anne Kinnes, CEO of The Black Watch Castle and Museum, explains, “We are thrilled to have retained our 5 star grading from VisitScotland. Our team is committed to delivering a world class experience for our visitors. It is through the dedication of our staff and volunteers to improve and exceed visitor expectations that we continue to be recognised as a leading Perthshire attraction.”

Alongside the Black Watch Castle and Museum, Scone Palace has an exciting and colourful history as one of Scotland's most important stately homes. Fifteen hundred years ago it was the capital of the Picts. In the intervening centuries, it has been the seat of parliaments and the crowning place of the Kings of Scots, including Macbeth and Robert The Bruce. The Palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artefacts and the grounds are renowned throughout the world, making the stately home one of the most popular tourist attractions in both Perth and Scotland.

This is the highest accolade that can be awarded to tourism organisations by the VisitScotland quality assurance scheme.

VisitScotland awarded the Palace membership of Taste Our Best again, a quality assurance scheme which ensures that visitors always receive the very best quality, seasonal local produce and receive information on where the food has come from.

Welcoming in excess of 100,000 visitors from all over the world every year, the team at Scone Palace understand the importance of offering all their visitors a warm welcome.

Stephen Brannigan, Head of Palace and Events at Scone Palace, said:

"We pride ourselves on offering all of our visitors a memorable experience when they come to Scone Palace and it is wonderful for our team to have received such glowing feedback from VisitScotland. Earlier this year we invested in staff training with a particular focus on customer care and Disability Equality Training, so it is great to see the positive impact of training come to fruition."

Scone Palace and The Black Watch Castle and Museum have a packed calendar of events throughout the year.  Check out our What's On Section for more information >
