The Gathering - Community Wellbeing Event
Head along to The North Inch Community Campus and celebrate Gypsy/Traveller culture and traditions at this fantastic free community wellbeing event hosted by local Gypsy/Travellers.
Everyone is welcome to get involved and try their hand at tinsmithing or flower-making, listen to traditional music, and see how a traditional bow tent is constructed!
Open to everyone of all ages and backgrounds.
We recently interviewed Susan Townsley who is a passionate volunteer trainer for MECOPP’s Gypsy/Traveller awareness-raising training sessions. As someone who was born in a tent in Stanley, and who lived in that tent all year round, she has firsthand knowledge of the issues facing the Gyspy / Traveller community.
