Orienteering is an exciting and challenging outdoor sport that exercises both mind and body!

By

Tayside Orienteers is the orienteering club for Perthshire, Angus and the City of Dundee. They welcome orienteers of all ages and abilities, and put on a regular series of events throughout the year.

The aim of orienteering is to navigate between control points marked on an orienteering map; as a competitive sport the challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time choosing your own best route; as a recreational activity it does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run or walk making progress at your own pace on courses planned to suit you.Outdoor Adventures Orienteers map

Orienteering can take place anywhere from remote forest and countryside to urban areas, parks and school playgrounds. It is a fulfilling sport for runners and walkers of all ages who want to test themselves mentally as well as physically or who want to add variety to their leisure activities.

Tayside Orienteers welcomes new members, from complete beginners to experienced orienteers. We all share a love of the physical and/or mental challenge of the sport.  Joining the club brings a wide range of benefits, both local and national.  They have a regular programme of events, including local training nights, blocks of coaching and local competitions, and travel together to regional, national and sometimes international events.
