Elasticated trousers at the ready folks - this weekend (14th - 16th September) sees Perth City Centre brought to life with the smells, tastes and treats of the inaugural Taste of Perthshire Food Festival. Brimming with a whole world of flavours, the fantastic city wide event has packed everything from a continental market, to cook demos and a Bavarian Bar into one weekend-long foodie extravaganza!
Hot on the heels of their Scotland’s Food Town Award earlier this year, over 30 fantastic food and drink businesses from across the city have come together to offer visitors and locals a concentrated taste of the region.
We caught up with Pete Wishart MP, who was lucky enough to join the team of chefs and restauranteurs earlier this year at the award ceremony.
“I am delighted to see Perth embracing its recent win and I'm looking forward to enjoying a weekend of culinary excitement. In recent years, we have built on our strong foodie foundations and have become the go-to city for some of Scotland’s finest chefs, mixologists and culinary teachers.
This weekend, they have all come together in a celebration of this success and I know you will find a few new foodie favourites from our list. Book dinner, catch a demo, wander round the market or stop for a wee dram. It is all there to be savoured - I’ll see you there.”
