Fitness Fanatic -Tammy Fleuchar

Tammy Fleuchar is Club Manager at Fit4Less gym in Perth City Centre, when she isn't helping the public of Perth get fit and healthy Tammy can be found battling the Scottish weather climbing to the top of a local munro or relaxing with a walk along the riverside.

"I worked in Fit4less Dundee East as a receptionist before going off on maternity leave.  This job came up a week before I was due to go back to Dundee East which was perfect as I had moved back to Perth while before having my second child.

"No two days are the same at Fit4less.  As manager I deal with the business side – finance, HR and training but as a Personal Trainer and class instructor I have to take 1-2-1 fitness sessions, deliver a Yoga class, Spin class or a HIIT session with Jeanfield Afc, the local Football team the club sponsor."

Where you’ll find me (in Perthshire) for:

Tell us the weirdest / funniest thing that has ever happened to you at work

About 3 years ago a guy came into the club and came up and hugged me saying ‘Jane, its so good to see you’.  He started going on about working in Aberdeen and asked when I moved to Perth.  It took me a good 20 minutes to convince him I wasn’t who he thought I was.

What signals the start of your days off?

A munro!  followed by baking or adventures with my kids.

I love nothing more than bagging munros, it really gives you space to clear your head and destress from everyday life.

Baking is also a release for me, so relaxing and who doesn’t love cake!    The most enjoyable part of my days off are spending time with my two boys.  Whether it is a trek up Kinnoull Hill, round the North Inch on their bikes or a trip to Noah’s we always have the best time together.

What might people be surprised to know about you?

I have a masters in Publishing and my dream is to be a publishing Children’s book author.   I only got into Fitness 3 years ago when I started working at Fit4less but I love every minute of it.  The members and team I work with are amazing!  They inspire me everyday.

What is at the top of your bucket list?

Trek around South America with my boys.

What is the worst job you’ve ever had?

I was a Financial Advisor, hated the pushy sales part.  Didn’t feel like I was helping people and that is such an important part of who I am.  I love to sell but only products and services I know can change peoples lives not to reach targets.

Who or what inspires you?

Tough question!  I am inspired all the time by different people.  I love to see people achieve their goals and work hard to do so.  I am also inspired by people who fight to make a difference in the world.

Most importantly my boys inspire me to be a better person everyday and to build a better future for them.  Kindness is one of the most basic human traits that is often over looked.  We can inspire anyone to change their lives by simply being nice and paying it forward.

Tell us about the day you’d love to live again?

14th July 2019 – I was on holiday with all of my family, we went to the beach and had the best time. I was surrounded by the best people. It’s the simplest things in life that matter.

What’s the best part about your job?

100% the members.  I am so fortunate to be in a position where I can make a real difference to someone’s life.   Nothing more rewarding than when a member comes to you proud after achieving their goal or tells you their confidence has improved because the time you spent with them.

Complete this sentence; the best things in life are…
