The aeronautical industry requires high calibre engineers at every stage of the product lifecycle, from conceptual design through to in-service support.

Studying Aeronautical and Aircraft Engineering at Perth College UHI will prepare you to meet the ever-growing need for engineers in this innovative and progressive sector. Aeronautical Engineering is a strategically important industry for Scotland with companies such as BAE Systems and Rolls Royce employing people in high skill, high-paying jobs. On campus, there is a functional aeronautical hangar that is equipped with wind tunnel, flight simulator, light aircraft and aircraft engines.

Their Aircraft Engineering courses offer a range of academic qualifications, from HNC to BEng (Hons) and BSc (Hons) and an MBA. The BEng course is in the accreditation process by the Royal Aeronautical Society and their staff have specialist knowledge across the breadth of aeronautical disciplines with backgrounds in industry, academia and the armed forces.

They also carry out research and consultancy, working with Formula 1 teams. Specialist equipment in classrooms and workshops supports teaching through practical activities. Perth College UHI is pleased to be leading one of the Tay Cities Deal projects. The Aviation Academy for Scotland is a partnership between Perth College UHI as part of the University of the Highlands and Islands, Tayside Aviation, Air Service Training and industry partners. The Academy will provide specialist training and skills to the global growth industries of aviation, emerging clean technologies and low carbon transport sectors.
