Pretty Things In The Country

By 28th August 2014
I was browsing through twitter the other day, as you do, when a rather gorgeous photograph of a beautiful model in the Perthshire countryside appeared in my news feed. Pretty Things in Perth's Bridge Lane (that wee street at the back of markies that the concert hall sits back off of) was showcasing its new Autumn fashions and the results were stunning. Ever nosey, I popped in and met Irene and co and they happily passed on their images for you all to ooooo and aaahhh over.

Irene told us "The idea behind the photoshoot was to let customers know that we have increased our fashion ranges in our Perth shop and that we are also selling online. Our new website launched in March and we plan to compile a "lookbook" each season to give a flavour of the new ranges. We are lucky that both shops, Perth and St Andrews, are situated in such fantastic countryside giving us beautiful backdrops on our doorstep. This time we simply crossed the road from my house, near Forgandenny, and used the rolling farmland as our shoot location!"

Perfect!

As well as the Forgandenny countryside, the seaside at St Andrews served as a wonderful backdrop for Emma's shoot.  I LOVE the East Neuk and when Irene explained that Emma's silk scarf was by the very talented Perth based designer Taisir Gibreel my excitement reached fever pitch! Her designs are stunning and Pretty Things has proudly stocked her scarves since she started her brand. For a Perth loving, fashion junkie like me it's fantastic to see the success that this has brought for both buisnesses.

If you're thinking that you recognise some of these gorgeous models you'd be right! Irene press-ganged some of the lovely ladies who work for Pretty Things into being models for the shoot and as you can imagine, they have had lots of positive feedback from online customers about using 'real people' to model their clothes.

Pretty Things are also using 'real people' for their charity fashion show on the 29th September in the George Hotel. Look out here on SCBP for more info!

Irene hit the nail on the head. "While 6' tall, size 6 models can look amazing, most of us are not that shape! We want to see these beautiful clothes on real women."

Pretty Things Navy JacketOne of the fashion ranges featured is new to Perth. Masai Clothing is a popular Danish brand that is very easy to wear, uses great fabrics and offers a very wide range each season.

"It is so popular that we have even 'sent coals to Newcastle' by selling it online to Danish customers looking for a particular outfit!"

#PerthLoveFest at its very best! Remember, if you're buying from Pretty Things, post, tweet or 'gram your photographs and tag #PerthLoveFest to be in with a chance of winning £50 of Perth Indie Vouchers each month!
