Hundreds of local Perthshire businesses are already backing this year's Perth Silent Auction.

You have probably spotted the high profile banners in the city centre profiling the annual fundraiser promoted by the Rotary Club of Perth and the Perthshire Advertiser.

On-line bids are being taken in advance of Saturday, December 7, when hundreds of lots will be snapped-up in advance of Christmas by big-hearted bidders.

The charities selected to benefit from this year's auction are Cornhill Macmillan Cancer Centre in Perth, the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and lots of local good causes.

Cornhill Macmillan Cancer Centre is a purpose-built Specialist Palliative Care Unit at Perth Royal Infirmary, staffed by a dedicated team with ongoing support and involvement from Macmillan Cancer Support.

My Name’5 Doddie Foundation provides funding to aid research into the cause of Motor Neuron Disease and to investigate potential cures.

Scotland rugby legend Doddie Weir has recorded a special message for bidders, which you can view below. Be part of the cure and bid in the Silent Auction.
