May Hunter is the fairy godmother of fantastic weddings! With years of event experience under her belt, May is the fabulous wedding coordinator from Dunkeld House Hotel and is ready to make your wedding dreams come true.

A Perthshire gal through and through, May understands the importance of family values. Her family are her biggest inspiration and their hard work and determination have been a constant inspiration throughout her life, so it’s no wonder that she has made a career being part of one of the biggest family gatherings in a couple’s life.

May is the friendly face that will be the guiding support throughout your wedding from your first initial meeting to liaising with suppliers and making sure the whole day runs smoothly and is relaxing and memorable for all guests.

May has given us a glimpse of the hustle and bustle of everyday life of one of the most important job roles a person can have.  May is one busy women! A typical day involves emails, enquiries, duty manager shifts, making appointments, organising weddings, producing brochures and marketing material. When she isn’t working on her day to day tasks you can find her organising wedding fairs, working on budgets and guiding new couples around the gorgeous Dunkeld House Hotel.

It takes a real people person to be a wedding coordinator and May is full of charisma. Her favourite part of her job is meeting new couples, working with them throughout the years of planning and watching them take their vows and walk down the aisle as husband and wife.

Tell us the weirdest / funniest thing that has ever happened to you at work?

The funniest thing we’ve done at Dunkeld is making a personalised calendar for our General Manager’s secret santa gift – hilarious!

What signals the start of your days off?

I have Sundays and Mondays off so a pomegranate and rose Edinburgh gin with the girls on a Saturday night.

What might people be surprised to know about you?

That I grew up on a farm – people can never believe it!

What is at the top of your bucket list?
I’d love to travel South America.

What is the worst job you’ve ever had?
I’ve been super lucky and loved all of my jobs and the people I worked with!

Who or what inspires you?
My Gramps, he’s 84 fit as a fiddle and still works every day of his life! In fact my entire family have always been my inspiration all of them work incredibly hard.

Tell us about the day you’d love to live again?
My two best friends wedding days – they were the best days ever! I love weddings and love seeing my friends so happy.

What’s the best part about your job?
Selling weddings first off (so I have my job), then on the day when the couple walk back down the aisle having said their vows – it’s a special moment.
