Great pub band

If you know The Last Smilin' Villains then you know it's always a party when they perform.

Formerly known as Booze 'n' Daze, The Last Smilin' Villains trace their origins back to the early years of the 21st century and the demise of a couple of wedding bands. Since then, it's been a journey worthy of a movie. Throughout that journey, accordionist John Ramsay has been at the heart of the band.

Taking its name from an outfit which founder-member, John Galbraith, played with in the '70's, Booze 'n' Daze was resurrected in Greyfriars Bar, Perth on a cold October evening in 2003.

Over the following years the band played hundreds of gigs the length and breadth of the UK and built up a faithful following in Perth. Wherever the band played, there was always a party!

Devastatingly, in 2009, John Galbraith, was diagnosed as suffering from the early stages of Parkinson's Disease. The band continued playing, however, and was joined by guitarist, Albert Angus.

By 2011 John's illness was beginning to take a hold and the band's live appearances grew more and more infrequent. John Ramsay and Albert Angus continued to play the occasional gig here and there, but something just didn't feel right when John couldn't join them on stage.

The band was almost defunct. But when, in 2013, Pauline kindly offered us a chance to get back out there with a return to Greyfriars Bar, it just felt like the time was right.

In the summer of 2014, John and Albert decided it was time for a change of name. Booze 'n' Daze became The Last Smilin' Viullains. But the music and the enthusiasm remain the same. From Ska to the Stones, Traditional to Teenage Kicks! We're looking forward to rocking it up on Saturday night!
