This course is perfect for those wishing to try opera for the first time, as well as those with some experience (soloists also needed!) in a welcoming, fun and supportive environment. Rehearsals and sessions will be held during the day, with chorus rehearsals taking place in the evenings and at weekends.
This is a unique opportunity to learn from professional musicians and singers about vocal and dramatic interpretation of French baroque opera and be involved with music rehearsals, vocal technique sessions, acting/movement sessions and an optional masterclass where participants can perform music of their own choice in a public coaching session.
Leading the course are soprano Colleen Nicoll and tenor David Douglas, and they will be joined by renowned Scottish pianist, Andrew Johnston, and makeup artist and wardrobe mistress, Claire Monica.
At the end of the course, you’ll participate in an exciting public performance (see here) of Actéon on Saturday 29th October at 7pm at Birnam Arts.
