Ingredients:
- 70cl Gin of your choice
- 200g redcurrants
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 litre glass kilner bottle
Method
1. Pop your clean berries in the glass kilner bottle along with the sugar. Top up with your favourite gin and leave to infuse for a week. Taste at this time to make sure the flavours have infused to your liking and leave for a bit longer if not.
2. Once ready, use a funnel to strain the gin back into it's original bottle, or another glass bottle which you can label up and give as a gift.
We've become a nation of gin lovers with an explosion of popularity for our favourite juniper-based spirit. A staggering 70% of gin in the UK is produced right here in Scotland, we've quite literally distilled ourselves a second national spirit!
If you're fed up of Eggnog and Snowballs this Christmas then fill up your festive flute with plenty ice and a good glug of this homemade redcurrant gin. It's so easy to make and looks and tastes fantastic, making it the perfect tipple or homemade gift for a gin loving friend or family. We've made a few bottles that will be gift wrapped with a big red ribbon and personalised wooden tag.
