Gift the dream experience of a lifetime for all Gin Lovers!

After years of being the boring drink your parents drank, gin is back in the game! And Scottish gin is hitting the big time. With 70% of gin consumed in the UK made in Scotland, gin is hot on the heels of whisky to become the new national spirit.

That’s why Persie Distillery is worth a visit. It is a small, family-owned business just north of Blairgowrie in Highland Perthshire. Established in 2014, the distillery welcomes visitors throughout the year for gin tastings and tours.

Developed by the man behind the world’s first touring gin club, Gin Club Scotland, he found that gin-lovers demand more than a nice taste. They need aroma! So he has developed three aromatic styles of gin: Zesty Citrus; Herby & Aromatic; and Sweet & Nutty Old Tom. All three styles are hand-crafted in small batches – then bottled and labelled on site by Simon the distiller – and any friends and family he can rope in. His mum has even come out of retirement to join the bottling line!

So come and meet the family and see a small craft distillery in action. You can enjoy a nosing and tasting session of three aromatic gins, or buy your gin-loving friends a gift from our range of gin merchandise. Not forgetting drivers, non-drinkers and children! Take your pick from coffee, tea or soft drinks – with plenty of crisps, nuts or biscuits to keep you going. The distillery is open to the public six days a week (it is closed on Fridays for private tastings): you can either pop in for free samples and a quick chat, or if it’s a special occasion you might prefer to book a ‘liquid tour’ and have a 3-glass gin flight in the distillery tasting room for £15 per head. This way, you can hear all about the back-story of Persie Gin, the botanicals, the process and the brand, then have a tour of Phil the Still and the bottling hub.

The magic happens in a steading-turned-distillery in the former Persie Hotel on the A93 – the highest public road in the UK and the start of the SnowRoads adventure through Cairngorms National Park. Just a 40-minute drive from Pitlochry, Perth, Dundee, Braemar or Dunkeld, the distillery is seven miles north of Blairgowrie, at the foot of Glenshee.
