Bat-Tastic Batty Guided Walk

Join Daniele from Perthshire Wildlife as she guides us up to a real live bat cave for a wonderful Bat-Tastic walk!

Perthshire Wildlife is a small, local, independent guided walk company run by our friend Daniele. She is super passionate about all things nature and knows everything there is to know (well, almost!) about our beautiful Perthshire countryside.

Did we mention she LOVES bats?! Why not join her Bat-Tastic Walk to find out more about these wonderful creatures that live in our eaves and caves?

You will celebrate the brilliance of bats by discovering amazing bat-tastic facts about our midge munching friends. Did you know a tiny pipistrelle can eat up to 3000 midges a night? And brown long-eared bats curl their huge ears under their wings when the sleep?

Danielle's bat walk gives you the chance not only to see these amazing flying mammals and their astonishing aerial acrobatics, but also learn more about them with games and activities. She supplies bat detectors so everyone can identify the species that are swooping around and to listen to them ‘chattering’ as they hunt for food.

The walk is suitable for both families and adults and will cover about a mile, including one hill. Please wear warm clothes, wear sturdy shoes and bring a torch as it will be dark towards the end of the walk.

PLEASE BOOK in advance! This particular walk is capped at 15 people because of the terrain so Daniele invites you to book through the website walks & booking page : www.perthshirewildlife.co.uk/events

Meet in front of the church on King St, Stanley, PH1 4ND. Meet at 7.00pm, finishing about 8.30pm

Tickets cost £5.50 per adult. Children are FREE but must be accompanied by an adult.

Key species – pipistrelle bats, brown long-eared bats, daubenton bats, tawny owl.
