Role: PKAVS Young Carers Support Worker
Salary: £18,033 - £20,097 per annum (subject to experience)
Contract Type: 1 Year Fixed-Term Initially

Through support and working in partnership, PKAVS help individuals to overcome personal barriers and ensure they have every chance to achieve their goals in life.
Job Purpose
You will support Young Carers by developing and delivering a range of group sessions/activities to Young Carers between the ages of 8-16 years. You will assist with the planning, preparation and evaluation of the group work programmes. Working in collaboration with team members, volunteers and external agencies in developing and participating in a range of activities and services delivered during school holidays, in the evenings and on weekends for Young Carers.
Key Objectives
1. Delivery of respite support activities including weekly respite groups and day and residential school holiday activities.
2. Provision of One-to-One support.
3. Raising awareness of unidentified Young Carers and supporting Young Carers already identified.
4. Championing the rights and well-being of Young Carers through raising awareness sessions through the delivery of presentations at schools, community groups and other external agencies.
5. The provision of family support, including signposting, to appropriate support services to help lessen the impact of the caring role on Young Carers.
6. Completing small pot funding applications to assist with delivery of service.
