Volunteer drivers and hosts

  • Location: Perthshire
  • Hours: Once a month on a Sunday afternoon
  • Salary: None

We are looking for volunteer drivers and hosts to help us to continue offering a Sunday afternoon tea party, once a month, to older, socially isolated members of the community.

Our drivers collect our guests and take them to the home of a volunteer host where our small groups enjoy a couple of hours of tea, cake, chat and companionship.  All you need is access to a car, a full driving licence and valid insurance.  The commitment for this is once a month, on a Sunday afternoon, for our regular drivers.

You can also volunteer to be a reserve driver and can be called upon to help out occasionally.

Our volunteer hosts provide a warm welcome and a simple afternoon tea for our groups of around 6 guests plus drivers.  You will need a home that can be easily accessed, not too many steps to your front door, and a downstairs loo.  You can host as little as once or twice a year.

We already have 3 groups up and running in Perth and 1 in Blairgowrie .

You can contact Lorna Dunbar on 01738 730249 to have a chat if you would like further information.
