Sales & Relationship Manager

Red String Ltd is an award-winning media company based in the heart of Perth City Centre.  Working across Perthshire and into wider Scotland our aim is to deliver strategic, creative solutions for a broad mix of clients.

As part of this mix, we own and manage Small City, Big Personality, Perthshire’s original online magazine and recent winner of Most Enterprising Business 2018 at the Association of Scottish Businesswomen Awards.  

This growing media channel burst onto the scene only four years ago and has developed into one of the area’s most popular digital platforms.  See our recent Small City Award Article for more details.

Due to staff movement we have an opportunity for an experienced person to build on an established client base and to further expand our Small City brand throughout the business community in Perth City and wider Perthshire and Kinross. 

As the Sales & Relationship Manager for the Small City brand, you will work with the editorial and digital team to develop opportunities for our partners and interesting, high quality feature content for our readers.   

The successful candidate will have a friendly, outgoing personality and enjoy building relationships with new people.   Experience in a sales, customer relationship or fundraising environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building relationships with local business and charities, and maintaining contact with our strong, established network
  • Selling advertising and sponsorship on the Small City, Big Personality platform (See our ‘Advertise With Small City’ page here>>>)
  • Selling advertising and sponsorship in our growing suite of mini magazines and offline opportunities
  • Taking the sale from start to finish ensuring you always deliver on customer expectations
  • Meeting deadlines set
  • Working with the editorial team to ensure good quality, interesting and fun content remains at the heart of what we do
  • Assisting in the management of our current advertisers and ensuring their packages are delivered to a high standard
  • Assisting in non-sales activities and opportunities for both advertisers and other local people of interest
  • Any other duties which management requires reasonable within the role.

Salary and Contract Term

Salary - £10 per hour with uncapped commission on all sales generated.  (As a guide, we anticipate commission of circa £3 – 5 per hour after the first six weeks.)

Finding the right fit for our team and this role is essential to the growth and development of our business.  Therefore, we will consider a minimum 16 hour contract and maximum 35 hour contract.  Hours are flexible and we are happy to accommodate school times for working parents.  

They must, however, be set over a minimum of three days, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.

You will be based in our Perth City Centre office.
