Red String is a busy PR & Marketing company based in the heart of Perth City Centre.  Working across Perthshire and into wider Scotland our aim is to deliver strategic, creative solutions for a broad mix of clients.

We also own and manage Small City, Big Personality, Perthshire’s original online magazine.  This growing media channel burst onto the scene in summer 2014 and has developed into one of the area’s most popular digital platforms.

Due to growth across both businesses, we have an opportunity for an experienced, motivated and ambitious Features & PR Exec to join our team and become part of our exciting plans for future expansion.

This exciting job role will really flex your copywriter’s muscle; your time will be split between editorial writing - where you will develop and showcase interesting, high quality features and content for our Small City, Big Personality readers - and pr and marketing copywriting to successfully deliver creative, results-driven media releases and marketing copy for our Red String clients. 

The role will also involve assisting in research, sourcing materials for our clients’ projects and contributing to the team’s joint responsibility of office admin.

The successful candidate will have a friendly, outgoing personality and enjoy building relationships with people both on and offline.

  • Journalism, Communications or Marketing qualification OR 3 years work experience in relevant writing role
  • Strong written skills allowing you to plan, write and edit content for various clients across different sectors
  • Creative approach to story-telling and feature writing for our online magazine
  • Excellent communicator who enjoys networking and building relationships
  • Experience in working within a deadline driven, time-sensitive environment
  • Proof reading and editing skills

Overview of Day To Day Responsibilities

  • Writing regular articles, advertorial and columns for Small City, Big Personality
  • Writing and distributing media releases to local and Scottish press and relevant digital platforms
  • Content creation for clients’ blogs and websites
  • Copywriting for both traditional and digital marketing materials
  • Liaising with Red String clients, suppliers and business contacts
  • Research and info gathering for the company, its brands and clients
  • Attending training as necessary and as requested by the company
  • Proof reading for yourself and other team members
  • Meeting deadlines relating to tasks and projects
  • Reporting and campaign measurement for clients and company
  • Applying Red String standards to all of the above

Salary and Contract Term

We are open to both graduates and experienced people applying for this role.  Salary and hours will be dependent on the successful individual.

The contract is for a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 37.5 hours per week.  Hours are flexible and we are happy to accommodate school times for working parents.  You will be based in our Perth City Centre office. Salary dependent on experience.
