Carers Support Worker – Perth Day Club role
Perth day services operate 5 days per week providing support and respite for carers and their cared for.
The successful candidate will have a flexible approach and the ability to work as part of the day services team. They will play a key role in the delivery and development of the day club services going forward. They should be able to help develop a supportive environment so that the service users’ needs are being met and their visit is a worthwhile and positive experience.
You will deal with referrals from carers, professionals and others. You will assess those referred to the service and work closely with carer and the cared for to ensure that a positive impact is made for everyone concerned.
Ideally, you should be educated to SVQ Level 3 in Social Care and have an awareness of legislation in respect of care provision and carers’ rights. Experience of working within a day care setting would be preferable but is not essential. A current driving licence is required as driving a mini bus is an essential part of this post. Ideally you will already hold a MIDAS certificate and if not be willing to obtain this within 6 months (PKAVS will support you with this).
You will be highly motivated and confident in building strong internal and external relationships. You will be able to proactively work both independently and as part of a team.
Offers will be made subject to satisfactory references, eligibility to work in the UK and membership of the PVG Scheme.
