Take a closer look at the friendship between two of Scottish modern art’s most important couples: The dancer Margaret Morris and her partner, the painter JD Fergusson, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the architect who became a painter, and his wife the artist Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh.

In this talk, Richard Emerson follows the journeys of these two couples from Chelsea to the French Riviera and the friendships developed between them. Come along to hear their stories taken from new research, much of it undertaken among the papers held by the Fergusson Gallery, from struggling artists to Mackintosh’s death.
