Errol Gala 2019

This annual event is the major fundraiser for Errol Village Hall and is the culmination of a week of Gala activities, which this year will include an 'Errol’s Got Talent' competition involving the local primary school children as well as adult football in the park. The three top acts will perform again on Gala Day and the audience will vote for the winner!

The Gala Day traditionally begins at midday with a parade down the High Street, which this year will involve a piper, a pair of heavy horses and a vintage tractor and bogey carrying the Gala Princess and her attendants. This year the Gala will be opened by Danielle Littlejohn, who is part of Miss European Global Team Scotland 2019 and has family connections to Errol. Danielle will then crown this year's Princess, Alice Wardle, who is in P7 at Errol Primary School.

There's a theme each year chosen by the local Primary School, which this year is Cartoon Characters. There will be a fancy dress competition on the day with prizes rewarding both adult and children's efforts.

There will be all the usual competitions, food, drink and entertainment including Slater's funfair, pony rides from Once Upon a Pony, a tasty BBQ and bar (including local Cairn o' Mohr wine and cider), tea tent run by the T Birds, stalls and many of the groups who use the hall will be showcasing their talents. 

The very popular tombola bottle stall will also be there, which is always well stocked with bottles donated by villagers and collected by a band of  volunteers during Gala Week. Local folk band Bruach will also be entertaining in the bar area at various times during the afternoon. 

This year organisers also been collaborating with the Solas Festival organisers and are going to be hosting a couple of acts in our main arena, Unicorn Dance Party and Brass, Aye?. They're also going to have a stall selling discounted Saturday evening tickets for the Festival. Brass, Aye? will be the headline act performing from 4.20 pm until the Gala closes at 5.00 pm!
