Perth Races Summer Fixture

It's another summer afternoon of racing on Tuesday 6th July with the second fixture in the Mackie's of Scotland Summer Series!

The Mackie's of Scotland Summer Series is popular here at Small City and we will be there for the second successive day - hopefully after some winners the day before!

Whether you are following on from the previous day of racing or you are just coming along for one afternoon, you are sure to be in for a treat with seven great races on the card and a host of excellent jockeys and trainers in action.

The Mackie’s Ice Cream huts will be open in the Grandstand area – so you can cool down when the action heats up! If you need a refreshing drink, you can visit the Lower Nelson or Champagne Bar to quench your thirst.

When it comes to placing a bet, you want to be informed. Head down to the Parade Ring to check form before you choose your winners on what is set to be a great afternoon of racing.

In previous years, famous names such as Paddy Brennan, Gordon Elliott and Richard Johnson have been on parade – make sure you bring your autograph book and camera as you may bump into one of your racing heroes!

WEAR: Smart casual – look cool and keep cool in the summer sun!

EAT: Try the delicious hog roast and slow cooked beef brisket from The Barn’s Low & Slow BBQ, or some delicious Fish & Chips!

SEE: The Parade Ring – take your camera with you in case you bump into some famous faces!

DO: Visit the Mackie’s Ice Cream Huts to taste the delicious ice cream.

EXTRAS: Quench your thirst in the Champagne Bar or enjoy a cold pint of Guinness in the Lower Nelson Bar.

Last year, trainer Gordon Elliott won the feature race with jockey Henry Brooke on board Le Grand Chene. Another winner from last year, Theflyingportrait, has gone on to win four more races since last year’s triumph.
