A day out for all the family - Sunday 16th July sees the return of the Family Race Day and what an event it is shaping up to be!

This is going to be a great day out and fun for all ages! Small City will be there to enjoy what is now one of the most popular events on the Perth calendar!

The third fixture in the Mackie’s of Scotland Summer Series, the Family Raceday has something for everyone. The centre course is open for kids to enjoy a wide range of fun-filled activities, while the Grandstand area is kept for the serious race goers.

CENTRE COURSE

Arrive as early as possible if you are planning to drive right in – it’s always a very busy day! This year, the centre course features the amazing Action Glen Extravaganza for the kids, which is something they will not want to miss! All the Action Glen activities are completely FREE, and kids can enjoy pony rides and inflatables.

Children’s racecards will also be provided, along with great information on the sport of horse racing so they can grow to love horses just as much as we do!

Pack your own picnic, relax and watch the action unfold while your kids enjoy all the free activities on offer. Feel free to bring a disposable BBQ but please do act responsibly and dispose of it once extinguished in the correct bins provided.

There will be a sports bar serving drinks all day, with some food also available too. There are toilet facilities and a race programme hut in the centre course.

Comfortable, casual clothes are fine for the centre course but please do dress suitably for the weather and remember hats and sun cream if it’s a hot, sunny day!

GRANDSTAND

For the serious race goers, the Grandstand will provide the perfect experience to enjoy a warm Sunday afternoon of high-quality racing.

A second viewing screen will be located beside the Tote and the action is not to be missed, especially our feature race – the Perth Silver Cup.

The atmosphere will be incredible in what is one of the busiest racing fixtures of the year. A great variety of food and drink will be available to enjoy while you place your bets and cheer your horses on to victory. Eat at the Highland Burger Bar or Café Bindaree, and when you feel parched visit the Champagne Bar for a glass of bubbly.

FEATURED RACING HIGHLIGHTS

Our featured race for the day is the Perth Silver Cup – the standout on what is a fantastic racecard.

Last year, champion jockey Richard Johnson won the feature handicap chase on board Gordon Elliott’s Le Grand Chene – who won at Perth for the second time in ten days.
