Hoteliers Race Evening

The ideal way to get in the swing of things before the next day’s big party, there are seven great races are on the card including the feature race – The Salutation Hotel Handicap Hurdle.

Taking place on Wednesday 16^th May, the evening is sponsored by five Perth hotels; Holiday Inn Express Perth, The Lodge at Perth Racecourse, Balathie House Hotel, The Grampian Hotel, and feature race sponsor The Salutation Hotel – won last year by local Grand National-winning trainer, Lucinda Russell’s 18/1 chance Spoils of War.

The Open Hunter Chase is also a popular race on the evening and there is plenty of fun and excitement around the competing amateurs on the night. It’s the best pre-party ahead of Totepool’s Ladies Day the following afternoon and after the race evening there is normally a large crowd from the racing fraternity who gather together in Perth City Centre to discuss their picks from the next day’s runners and riders.

The dress code is smart casual and the focus is more on the quality of racing than the formal dress – save that for the next day and you could win yourself some big prizes as Grand Lady or Best Dressed Male!
