The Grimethorpe Colliery Band was formed way back in 1917 as a leisure activity for the workers. By 1995, the film 'Brassed Off' made the band recognised internationally and things have snowballed since then!
Since Brassed Off was released, the band has toured extensively throughout Europe, with highlights including a film festival in Norway, the FIFA 1998 World Cup in Paris, and the Eurovision Song Contest - performing to an estimated television audience of over 50 million people.
The band appointed Dr Robert Childs as Principal Conductor and Music Director in January 2014 and the show is not to be missed as they perform well-known music in stunning fashion.

Tickets go on sale from 10AM on Monday 26th March 2018. Friends of Perth Festival of the Arts can book one week in advance, from 10AM on Monday 19th March - and it's only £10 to join.
