Part of the September Serenades series

Enjoy an afternoon of wonderful opera highlights from a trio of brilliant young Scottish Opera singers, accompanied by Scottish Opera’s Head of Music, Derek Clark.

Featured singers include Christopher Turner, Tenor, who sang the lead roles in this year’s Scottish Opera productions of Rossini’s La Scala di Seta and Puccini’s La Bohème and who will sing the role of Gastone in their forthcoming revival of Sir David McVicar’s famed 2008 production of Verdi’s La Traviata, of which also includes the other two stars of the afternoon - Catherine Backhouse, Mezzo-Soprano, and Alex Otterburn, Baritone, both Scottish Opera Emerging Artists.

Don’t miss!

“The real high points, though, came from Christopher Turner’s Fabio, wonderfully cynical in his observations on the vagaries of desire……”

The Guardian

Backhouse, in particular, has a vivid stage presence and a rich mezzo timbre.

The Times

“The extravagant sashaying of the hip-flask-addicted John Styx - a terrific account by the baritone Alex Otterburn…”
