What is your job, when did you start, how did you come to be here?
I write for the Small City family column. I check out the many fun things there are to do with young children in and around Perth, and then write about them. I completed my first review for Small City in the summer of 2017. I loved sharing my experiences and have contributed more than a dozen reviews since.
What's the best thing that’s ever happened to you since you started work at Small City?
The Small City team got together for a Boating on the Tay experience in the summer - knocking back a couple of glasses of fizz on a balmy evening enjoying the river breeze - it was great!

What's the best part of your job?
I am fortunate in that I can combine work with spending time with my son, James. I’ve been impressed by the variety of activities available to us locally, and I enjoy spreading the word to other parents.
What signals starts of days off?
I think most parents would agree there’s no such thing as a day ‘off' however, I usually get Saturday mornings to myself and I try to kick-start my weekend with a 5k jog at Parkrun. It gives me loads of energy and I always reward myself with a cuppa and a big slab of cake!
What might people be surprised to know about you?
I spent two years working and backpacking in Canada, America, Australia and New Zealand.
What's at the top of your bucket list?
I’ve always wanted to travel more. I’m fascinated by Antarctica, but it’s an awful long way to go…
Who or what inspires you?
My little boy, of course! At age 3, he makes the most of every day and never frets about tomorrow. He really doesn’t care what anyone thinks, and I could definitely learn from his approach to life!
What day would you love to live again?
I think I’m lucky to be able to say I couldn’t possibly pick just one day. I became very ill with meningitis in 2017 and now I try to be thankful for every day that I have!
The idea was born out of a desire to show-off. Show-off this great wee city that is punching well above its weight.
