See one the best-preserved prehistoric logboats in Britain in its new permanent home.

Carved from a single tree trunk, the 3000 year-old Carpow Logboat is the second oldest boat in Scotland. Travel back to prehistory in our newly refurbished gallery, Beginnings: The Story of Perth.

Hear the fascinating story of the making, use and discovery of this fragile Bronze Age logboat, excavated by archaeologists from the River Tay at Carpow in 2005, and find out more about the first farming and metal making societies.
