Tenebrae offers the finest pairing of poetry and music in a range of works, some already treasured in the heart of the nation, with other masterpieces which might well join them.

The British culture is one that seems to have an instinct for remembrance and traditions such as the minute's silence, the sight of falling poppies, crowds lining the streets for a cortege and music of consolation and respect illustrates this.

It's in the very fabric of our towns and cities in the form of memorials and the culture of commemoration is highlighted in music and the choral tradition possesses and unmistakable role in giving voice and words to these sentiments.

Join Tenebrae for a wonderful evening pairing poetry and music at St. John's Kirk. The London-based professional vocal ensemble is directed by Nigel Short and its repertoire covers works from the 16th to the 21st Century.

Tickets go on sale from 10AM on Monday 26th March 2018. Friends of Perth Festival of the Arts can book one week in advance, from 10AM on Monday 19th March - and it's only £10 to join.
